In response to repeat requests to access Australian music from international trading partners, Frank launched a new division and Shock Exports was born. Shock Exports quickly became a force to be reckoned with and soon established itself as the leading supplier of music and entertainment product in the region. Winner of numerous export awards, over 20 odd years Shock became known in the global market as a reputable and dependable business, supplying independent and major label products to the biggest wholesalers, retail outlets and online stores on the planet.
Changes in technology and the advent of music fans opting for 99 cent downloads or streaming free music on-line had a massive effect on the industry at large. Whilst Shock remained strong as a supplier, the larger customer base declined at a rapid rate. High Street stores closed left, right and centre and the demand for physical product dwindled.
The demand for physical music and entertainment product definitely still exist… it’s just the scale that differs. L’Unita was formed to facilitate the supply of those in demand products and has traded, beyond expectation, since it’s formation in 2011.
